Sex trafficking and prostitution presents a significant public health concern
domestically and abroad. Of equal importance is sex trafficking’s far reaching
emotional, psychological and spiritual effects, as well as its potential to
devastate one’s quality of life, unless appropriate interventions are provided
early on.
The Lotus Project aids in the emotional and spiritual well-being of women
impacted by prostitution and sexual abuse. Additionally, women referred to the
Lotus Project receive practical life management tools and strategies geared
toward personal growth, empowerment, and transformation.
Our therapeutic model draws from a plethora of conventional and complementary
modalities that are proven effective in transforming the deep seated emotional
scars of sexual exploitation and abuse. We believe every person suffering the
impact of sexual abuse and exploitation has the ability to be completely
emancipated if placed in an environment that supports this reality.
Through our 10-week curriculum, Lotus Project participants are supported in a
loving, supportive and safe environment that facilitates their healing,
transformation and independence.
The Lotus Project is a
community based initiative developed by Thulani DeMarsay, president of Thulani
Life Management Solutions and Executive Director of the Indigo Center for New
Thought in Boston, MA.
