Alcohol & Drug Recovery
for Leaders

An Invitation to Recovery

Leaders have unique stressors.

Managing stress is a challenge for most people; however, leaders and executives have unique stressors that affect their lives. Many are faced with busy schedules, long work hours, and major responsibilities that often lead to severe consequences in the event that something goes wrong.  High-performing leaders tend to live under immense pressure and many often turn to alcohol or recreational drugs to ease the anxiety and emotional strain of managing the demands of their professional and personal lives.

I am a careful listener and a trusted confidant who has worked very closely with managers, senior level executives, professional athletes, and high-profile individuals who struggle with substance use and other compulsive behaviors.

Executive recovery coaching from a fellow journeyer

I am a fellow journeyer. I have been in long-term recovery for 23 years. During this time, I have discovered essential tools for sustained recovery. I have trained over a thousand people in the state of Massachusetts to become a peer recovery coach and I consult with the Department of Public Health on training initiatives to strengthen the recovery workforce in the commonwealth.

Recovery Coaching & My Approach

Recovery coaching is a non-clinical, self-directed, strengths-based partnership between coach and client with the goal of achieving long-term recovery and improved quality of life. Recovery coaches help individuals on the path of recovery, before, during, and after treatment. The coach assists the client with identifying and overcoming barriers to recovery, including stigma and shame. At the heart of my practice is a firm belief in an individual’s capacity for change and personal transformation.

While recovery from substance use is the primary objective, I address the whole person, encompassing health and wellness, self-care and coping skills. When individuals are healthy in mind, body and spirit, they are less likely to slip. I do not ascribe to one particular pathway – my approach honors individuality and is respectful of all pathways to recovery. My personal pathways include Mindfulness-Based Recovery, Refuge Recovery, and SMART Recovery.

I would be honored to take this journey with you towards life-long recovery.

Clarify Vision

My coaching session begins with visioning. Through this process, we’ll clarify your desired outcomes. We identify the gap between where you are now and where you want to be in the domain of your health and quality of life, resilience, self-awareness or performance.

Coaching Path

Once you've selected a wellness coaching path that aligns with your vision and leadership objectives, we'll schedule 60-minute sessions on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. You'll be provided with appropriate resources and coaching support to assist you with making desired changes.

Sustain Change

Between our sessions, you'll implement certain practices and behavior management strategies that align with your desired vision. We'll monitor your progress and make appropriate changes when necessary.  If needed, you will receive additional support and accountability via text and/or email.
